He is an editorial board member of several journals and has chaired and created numerous IEEE conferences. He is former EiC of the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials. Raouf Boutaba is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has published extensively in the area of network and service management and received several journal and conference Best Paper Awards such as the 2008 IEEE Fred W. Ellersnick Prize Paper Award as well as other recognitions such as the Dan Stokesbury award and the McNaughton Gold Medal. He is a fellow of the IEEE and the Engineering Institute of Canada.
